Causes of spasticity
Spasticity can result from a variety of injuries or diseases, such as:
- Stroke.
- Cerebral palsy.
- Traumatic brain injury.
- Spinal cord injury.
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
- Certain metabolic diseases.
- Hereditary spastic paraplegias.
- Other conditions that affect the brain or spinal cord.
